10th May 2016

Hours: 12 hours per week (subject to funding)

Salary: £18,400 per annum, pro rata

12 month fixed-term contract (subject to funding)

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank is looking for a self-motivated, well organised and friendly-natured person to co-ordinate and to evaluate our health projects. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to plan effectively and have the ability to get people and organisations engaged and working together. We hope to find a team player who has a heart for the work of foodbank, in relieving poverty, and who has the willingness to go the extra mile to make a difference in people’s lives.

The Department of Public Health is funding this post to build on work already achieved. The role will involve working in partnership with relevant individuals and organisations to make sure that

  • An expected number of healthy themed holiday clubs takes place across the City,
  • Healthy themed holiday clubs are attended by families who will benefit the most from these.

The role also involves organising and enabling ‘cooking on a budget’ sessions to continue taking place at foodbank distribution centres.

The post holder will be expected to participate in health-orientated activity city-wide by attending the North Staffs Community Food Network meetings, linking in with partners where appropriate.

The role will be based at The Foodbank Office at Hanley Community Fire Station, with frequent travel required city-wide to the distribution centres, our warehouse, and other venues.

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank provides three-day emergency food parcels for people in crisis and works in partnership with churches across the city as well as a variety of voluntary and statutory providers to ensure beneficiaries are supported during their crisis period. More information can be found on our website: http://stokeontrent.foodbank.org.uk/

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank is a charity founded on Christian principles. Not every member of the wider team involved in the project is a Christian, but we all subscribe to the same values (included in the Health Coordinator Job Description) and hope that new team members will too.
