Changes to Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank

19th March 2015

Message from Foodbank Manager, Anna Willcocks…….

As the number of Foodbank distribution centres continues to grow, the Trustees and I have been planning a number of changes to ensure that Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank remains as efficient as possible, making wise use of the resources we’ve been blessed with across the city.

From Monday 20th April 2015, our MAIN WAREHOUSE is ‘moving’ to the Blurton Methodist Church building on Magdalen Road, Blurton, ST3 3HS.

Therefore, from that date, we are asking that donations are taken to the Blurton Methodist Church building on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, between 10:00am and 4.00pm.

Accordingly, Wesley Hall Methodist Church building will, in future, be used for overflow storage only (eg. at Harvest and during Tesco National Food-drives).

Additionally we are moving most of our Administrative Base into Hanley Community Fire Station (Lower Bethesda Street, Hanley, ST1 3RP), starting Monday 16th March 2015.

Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank will also be taking this opportunity to have a new phone number; we will, of course, let you know the new number as soon as possible.

The reason we are able to benefit from these significant improvements is because Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank has been freely blessed with the gift of office space at Hanley Community Fire Station (with parking spaces kindly gifted to us by Hanley Baptist Church), together with the free use of Blurton Methodist Church building.

Although we will have an on-going presence at Wesley Hall, I know the Trustees would like to take this opportunity to express their immense gratitude to the Church Members there for their sacrificial co-operation over the past 3+ years.  Anyone who’s been to Wesley Hall in that time will know first-hand how indebted Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank is to them.

Lastly, thank you for all that you do to make Foodbank happen for the people of our City; I trust that we can count on your support as we navigate our way together through these changes.

If you have any questions or concerns then please do contact me.
