Santa With A Twist

20th December 2014

Families have been invited to give a gift to Santa this Christmas.

‘Santa with a Twist’ took place this afternoon (20 December) at Burslem Park and involved people leaving Santa a food gift rather than recieving a gift. All food received by Santa Claus was then forwarded to the Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank.

120kg of festive food was donated at the event, which will be used by the Foodbank to help those in crisis.

Dave Grice, Parks Liaison Officer, headed up the day: “We had a great response from the generous people around Burslem.

“It’s great to see the Park being used to create a community engaging event that supported a very good cause.”

Dave Grice plans to hold another ‘Santa with a Twist’ next year and the park have placed a permanent food collection bin in the Café.

A big thank you to Dave and the team for their support for the work of Stoke-on-Trent Foodbank!
